An arm robber and a taxi driver were on the 15th of September, 2016 arrested by Security men at about 9am after a failed attempt to carry out a robbery in Calabar.
According to reports reaching us by Ifere Paul, two of the arm robbers escaped arrest and are at large. But the this fine boy on pink shirt in the photos below was arrested shortly after he escaped in a taxi.
It is however unclear if the said taxi was part of the operation. Meanwhile, the other robber was caught right handed with a locally made short piston with some cartridges inside.
We’ve had series of back-to-back robbery in Calabar where some daredevils who escaped from the pit of hell raided Calabar and turned it into a roist. Daring the security men as they rob both day and night without been confronted during the middle period of the year.
However, new security measures where put in place by the Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade to sabotage their act, and many of them were arrested while others escaped and change their location as the city returned to calmness.
Ever since the introduction of the Joint Tax Force, JTF, all robbery attempt have been backfired as the new force men are always in place to make sure all nooks and crannies of the state are safe.
