Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, a power couple? Absolutely. They’re set to celebrate 14 years of wedded bliss this summer. Quite the achievement, especially in the glitzy world of Hollywood.
But wait, there’s more. This weekend brings another reason to pop the champagne. Emily’s up for her first Oscar. (You can check out the full list of nominees somewhere else.)
The ceremony’s on March 10, with Jimmy Kimmel playing host. Emily’s in the running for Best Supporting Actress. Her role? Kitty Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s latest flick.
She’s got some stiff competition, though. Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), America Ferrera (Barbie), Jodie Foster (NYAD), and Da’Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers) are all vying for the same award.
Win or lose, John will be right there, cheering her on. In fact, it was his random run-in with Christopher that landed Emily the role in Oppenheimer.
Here’s a fun tidbit. Matt Damon, their co-star and neighbor, once told E! News, “[Christopher] came to our apartment building to meet with me, and he already knew that he was gonna go to Emily with the other part. But he literally didn’t because he didn’t want to seem like he was only going to one building to cast the entire movie.” How’s that for a plot twist?
