Ghanaian lawyer, entrepreneur, and human resources practitioner Elsie Appau-Klu has been recognized with two prestigious awards for her exceptional contributions to social entrepreneurship and human resource Development.
At the Global Entrepreneurship Festival in Akure, Nigeria, Elsie received the Global Recognition Award in the Social Entrepreneurship and Impact category, cementing her reputation as a changemaker in Africa’s business landscape.
In addition, she was honored with the Most Respected CEO in Human Resource Consultancy at the Ghana Industry CEO Awards, a testament to her leadership in Acreaty Ghana Limited and her role in shaping the HR sector in Ghana and beyond.
Speaking about her Global Recognition Award, Elsie reflected on her journey from a humble upbringing in Sokode-Bagble, a small village in Ghana’s Volta Region, to becoming one of the country’s most prominent Business executives. “This award isn’t just about me; it’s about the countless people and organizations that have supported me along the way. It represents the hard work, resilience, and belief in making a difference in society,” she said.
Elsie has built an impressive career Consulting and advising global organizations, including the United Nations Development Fund, the African Development Bank, and the Netherlands Foreign Affairs Ministry. Her expertise spans policy analysis, governance, youth development, and business sustainability, making her a trusted voice in strategic bilateral programs between Ghana and the Netherlands.
Her passion for empowering women and small businesses is evident in her role as President of the Women’s Economic Forum, where she promotes economic development and SME growth. She has trained hundreds of entrepreneurs and facilitated critical conversations on the future of African businesses.
