Eli Manning, Peyton Manning and Jerome Bettis…the new Ghostbusters?

Eli Manning, Peyton Manning and Jerome Bettis gear up as Ghostbusters… but it’s not what you think.

Peyton and Eli Manning, along with Jerome Bettis, drew the attention of those on the Notre Dame campus earlier this week when they were seen filming upcoming episodes of their popular ESPN+ shows, ‘Eli’s Places’ and ‘Peyton’s Places,’ in Ghostbusters uniforms.

Since then, more details have emerged, including Eli Manning posting the image below to Twitter with the caption “I’ll explain later!”

The three NFL stars were dressed as characters from the 1984 film “Ghostbusters.” Eli posted a photo of himself in front of the classic “Ectomobile” on Friday morning.

Ghostbusternews.com had reported that the recording was for ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli,‘ but in reality, it was for ‘Eli’s Places’ and ‘Peyton’s Places,’ which airs on the ESPN+ streaming service.

A real Ghostbusters treat for Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, and Jerome Bettis

Filming took place this past Wednesday and Thursday at Notre Dame Stadium, Washington Hall, and other locations on campus as part of the collaboration with Ghost Corps.

The props for the shoot were a major undertaking, with 19 being molded, cast, and assembled over the course of three weeks. Rhett J. Martin, a Ghostbusters fan and prop builder, created two hero Ghost Traps with pedals, two smoking stunt Ghost Traps with pedals, two pairs of Ecto Goggles, four stunt Proton Packs, three semi-hero Neutrona Wands, and one hero Neutrona Wand in Ohio.

Sadly, they won’t be part of any new Ghostbusters movie or show, but it would’ve been great. We’re just saying, ESPN, you should consider it!
