Electrician – Krugersdorp

Job Description    

  • RCL FOODS is seeking an Electrician to join our Pies Division. The role will be based in Krugersdorp and report to the Senior Artisan. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring a safe and proper functioning of production equipment as well as electrical connections and activities in support of a continuous run of machinery. 

Minimum Requirements    

  • Matric 
  • Qualified Electrician 
  • 5 years experience in filling line machines, conveyor belts, mechanical work, and electrical work 
  • N6 National Certificate in Engineering
  • Trade tested as an Artisan.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-trade experience
  • Leadership/supervisory experience
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years experience (mechanical or electrical) in the FMCG industry 
  • Experience in logical problem-solving and error-detection techniques

Duties & Responsibilities    

  • Maintenance 
  • Perform maintenance on electrical equipment/machinery 
  • Conducts inspections and attend to identified problems on equipment 
  • Attends to breakdowns on all equipment in the plant 
  • Maintaining AC, VSD & DC Machines 
  • Maintaining AC & DC Drives 
  • Responsible for the checking, pressure analysis and correct functioning all air compressors 
  • Attending to and configuration/programming on all PLCs. 
  • Ensures proper functioning of all switches. These being: 
  • Micro Switches 
  • Limit Switches 
  • Pressure Switches 

Quality and Food Safety 

  • Ensure ongoing implementation (and where possible improvement) of the Quality and Food Safety system through the systematic implementation of the relevant food safety requirements. 
  • Striclty apply the requirements as defined in the Food Safety RACI Matrix and relevant policies and procedures (SOP’s).
