Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Electrical or Mechanical Diploma
National Trade Certificate
Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a hospital/healthcare
Computer literacy
Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Management of daily job cards.
Knowledge of R158 Building regulations with specific reference to Hospitals and theatre specifications as well as industrial kitchen
A good working knowledge of PFC and stand-by power facilities
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change
Good planning and organization skills
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change
Willingness to work overtime when necessary
Minimum Job Requirement
Conduct daily checks on all hospital machinery and equipment to ensure all are working well
Adhere to preventative maintenance schedules and recommend adjustments / changes where applicable
Ensure that jobs are carried out as per job card instructions
Perform new electrical installations and upgrades on existing machinery and equipment
Conduct daily routine preventative maintenance checks
Ensure compliance to maintenance protocols and standards
Ensure work performed / executed is per health and safety standards
Identify equipment deviations and report to hospital manager and line manager and ensure the appropriate remedial action has been taken
Conduct root cause analysis as it relates to recurring technical / mechanical failures
Ensure equipment maintenance and operations adhere to machinery regulations OHS act
Responsible for the drafting of the facility Plan
Oversee the repair, maintenance, installation of electrical machinery and equipment
Repair and maintenance of basic and industrial appliances
Is responsible for the overall reticulation of the facility
