Ekureku Youths eulogises Hon Dr Etuki Eborty @51

The youths in a statement signed by the Programme Director of Ekureku Youth for Change Initiative, Mr Stanley Igboke in Calabar felicitated and eulogised Dr Etuki Eborty Egbonyi as he clocks 51. Dr Eborty who hails from Ngarabe Community of Ekureku in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State is an educationist par excellence, a one-time councilor, representing Ekureku Ward II at the Abi Local Government Legislative Chambers, and currently a lecturer at the Department of Environmental Education at the University of Calabar, Calabar.

The statement quoting John Wesley stated that “Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can” has been the guiding principle of Dr Eborty both in his private and public life.
This started manifesting in Ekureku Student’s Union Government as an undergraduate student of the University of Calabar. It continued when he answered his people call to represent them as Councilor between 2007 to 2010 at the local government level, especially in his people-centred policy initiatives such as the “free computer training for all his constituents who were ready to embrace the digital age, the culvert constructed along Ngarabe farm road, and the all-important motion he moved at the Abi Local Government Legislative Chambers that eventually resulted and led to the establishment of First Bank of Nigeria at Itigidi (the only bank in the entire Abi L.G.A.).

The youth felt inspired by the fact that during Dr Eborty’s political sojourn, he tactically refused to let his self-development to be relegated to the background by continually engaging and enrolling for further studies and programmes has culminated into the achievement of “Doctor of Philosophy” (PHD in Curriculum Studies and Curriculum Instructions), a programme he completed in record time, thus putting Ngarabe community on the global map of the academia and intelligentsia as the first PHD holder in the entire Ngarabe community.

“We are proud of his achievements at just 51years of age haven been born on the 22nd of June, 1966, he has proven to be a colossus both to the Ngarabe community and Ekureku at large locally and in diaspora as he remained a strong supporter and pillar of Ngarabe Family Association Calabar Branch and as Vice Chairman of Ekureku Family Association, Calabar.

“We, at Ekureku Youth for Change Initiative would like to congratulate you for God’s divine benevolence on you even as you add a year to your age. You have exhibited uncommon wisdom, remarkable vision, and exemplary leadership. You are an inspiration and thank you for having such a positive impact on us. As you mark your 51 year of existence on earth today, I join others in wishing you a very happy birthday. Happy Birthday. Unless God has raised you up for this very thing, you will be worn out by the opposition of men and devils. But if God be for you, who can be against you? Are all of them together stronger than God? O be not weary of well doing!” The statement concluded.
