Yesterday 5 July the South South National Vice Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress-APC, Ntufam (Prince) Hilliard Eta sent his message of felicitation to the Muslim community in commemoration of this year's Eid-el-Fitr.
The APC chieftain charged Muslim faithfuls in the country to renew their commitments to the teachings of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH). He also asked them to employ this period in saying a collective prayer to the nation's unity and continued peaceful coexistence. Excerpt:
EID-EL-FITR MESSAGE
In the name of the South South Zone of the All Progressives Congress, I felicitate with our Muslim countrymen and women who are celebrating the Eid-el-Fitr, having successfully concluded this year’s Ramadan fast.
As the celebration goes on, it is important for faithfuls to undertake a renewal of commitment to the teachings of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) and to practice his good works in accordance with the injunctions of the Holy Book.
Let us also use this chance to say sincere prayers for the unity and progress of our Nation and for its continued peaceful coexistence. It is fitting as well that we table our collective national problems before the Almighty and seek his divine guidance as we chart the course for a better tomorrow.
May our Muslim compatriots remain favoured by Allah’s blessings now and in the years to come.
