Efik National Association USA approves fund to assist COVID-19 victims, shift Orlando Convention

The The Efik National Association Incorporated, United States of America (ENA-USA, Inc.), has approved the establishment of benevolent fund to assist members who have been significantly affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

This was contained in a press statement by the President of the association, Mr. Emmanuel Nsemo, earlier this month and made available to PARADISE NEWS.

Nsemo, however urged able members of the ENA-USA, Inc., to donate to the benevolent fund to enable the association carry out the humanitarian service.

“The Executive Committee has approved the establishment of a benevolent fund that would be managed by the welfare committee to assist members who have been significantly affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

“Members are encouraged to donate to the benevolent fund all year round, especially as this year’s convention will not be holding”, Nsemo said.

The statement also stated that due to the pandemic, the Orlando 2020 National Convention billed for July, has been postponed.

“Consequently, the 2020 National Convention would be held as a combined event at the same venue, once details have been concluded”, the statement read in part.

The ENA-USA, Inc., further commended its members who were/are frontline workers – who on a daily basis place their lives on the line to keep others alive.

Meanwhile, the list of members of the Welfare Committee include; Mrs. Momo Igori as Team Leader, Mrs. Mary Solomon, Mrs. MaryAnn Tommey and Mr. Coby Cobham as Members.
