The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Wednesday, arrested three men over alleged naira racketeering.

The commission gave their names as Musa Gideon, Abdul Seidu Adamu and Justine Musa.

According to a press release by the Commission through its spokesman, Dele Oyewale, the three were arrested in a sting operation by operatives of the Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC along Yakubu Gowon way while trying to sell new naira notes to an EFCC undercover operative.

Oyewale said the operative is a member of the Special task force set up to enforce extant laws against currency mutilation and dollarisation of the economy.

He explained that the operation yielded the arrest of the three suspects trying to sell new and old naira notes to the tune of N1.3 million.

The anti-graft agency said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
