Ed's gameplay trailer is set to drop in less than 24 hours for Street Fighter 6

Fans knew he was coming technically before Street Fighter 6 was even released, and now it’s almost time to see him in action.

Capcom just announced today that Ed’s gameplay trailer is scheduled to release in less than 24 hours for SF6.

According to the official post, Ed’s gameplay debut will drop tomorrow, February 8, at 3 p.m. PT / 6 p.m. ET with a YouTube countdown now started.

The cover for the video also gives us another look at Ed’s key art for his new incarnation, which is also the same portrait that Capcom leaked late last year too.

Capcom released a teaser trailer for Ed last month revealing his World Tour introduction with the player avatar where they did seem to clue us in on some of his returning moves for SF6 like his roll, Snatcher net and Psycho Knuckle though he’ll presumably be carrying over a lot more too.

There is some content for the character and some of his Neo Shadaloo compatriots already in the game with the Get Ready for Ed Fighting Pass that’ll be available until February 22.

Ed was introduced as a child in Balrog’s ending for Street Fighter 4, but he made his roster debut in Street Fighter 5 where he was a bit of an experimental combatant who lacked the usual motion inputs for his special attacks.

That likely influenced Street Fighter 6’s Modern control scheme, so fans have been waiting to see what the developers are going to do with him in the new game.

Ed’s gameplay trailer probably won’t answer that directly, however, which means his official character overview is where we’ll likely get more direct information on that.

As was previously announced, Ed will be releasing in Street Fighter 6 as its third DLC character on February 27 shortly after the conclusion of Capcom Cup X.

Considering they’re about to show off Ed now, this seems to all but confirm that Akuma will at the very least be teased at Capcom Cup later this month as well.
