Eddy Gordo revealed as first fighter for Tekken 8's Playable Character Year 1 Pass, releasing spring 2024

Eddy Gordo has been revealed as the first DLC fighter coming to Tekken 8 via the Playable Character Year 1 Pass. As seen in the brief sneak peek, Eddy Gordo will be released sometime in spring 2024.

“Keep a passionate heart and a cool head,” says Eddy once he becomes fully visible in his portion of the trailer. As expected, Eddy has retained fighting using Capoeira, a Brazilian fighting style that combines martial arts, sports and music.

Eddy Gordo made his first appearance in Tekken 3. Since then, he’s been part of the base roster for every game in the series aside from Tekken 8. Luckily, the decision of excluding him from Tekken 8’s base roster is being remedied by making him the first DLC combatant.

We see clearly in the trailer how he performs a lot of shuffling, even while in an idle state. Needless to say, Eddy has always had a particularly slippery and evasive play style that can be difficult to master.

Not much of Eddy Gordo’s gameplay is shown as he’s likely still in development. Much of the trailer is spent showing us the motion capture and model animation work that was required to develop Eddy.

Eddy’s portion of the trailer begins at 2:25. Check it out below:
