The deal for purchasing Mortal Kombat 1 gets just a little bit sweeter as a brand new, free Kenshi skin drops on Friday, August 30. This alternate attire is titled Blinding Radiance as the blind character slips into a high profile gold jacket that he almost certainly stole out of Johnny Cage’s closet.
On top of sharing footage of this new Kenshi look on X, Ed Boon has teased the potential for another skin in the future: a nostalgic look for Scorpion from one of the franchise’s more controversial titles.
Blind Radiance Kenshi is the seventh in an ongoing string of free Mortal Kombat 1 skins. These began with Bloody Generous Mileena and continued with Golden Boy Johnny Cage, Silver Streak Smoke, ’95 Movie Scorpion, Action Hero Johnny, and ’95 Movie Inspired Smoke.
You can view all the details as we’ve snapped a few stills of the skin (and included some stellar shots from TQT) in the gallery below. Check out all the other recent free Mortal Kombat 1 skins in Ed Boon’s X post showcase below that.

Ed Boon’s X posts are constantly flooded with fan requests for additions and alterations to Mortal Kombat, and every so often someone hits on something that may or may not already be in the pipeline. Boon’s playfully antagonistic social media antics make it impossible to tell for sure, but he’s long been one to leave bread crumbs for upcoming content.
Someone recently suggested that NetherRealm Studios developers bring back Scorpion’s look from his Mortal Kombat vs. DC appearance from way back in 2008, and Boon took the time to re-post with the enticing caption, “That ain’t a bad idea:”

Again, with Boon we never know until it’s official, but we wouldn’t at all be surprised at this point to see MK vs. DC Scorpion get a visual representation in MK1 in the not too distant future.
