Ghostface, Conan the Barbarian, T-1000, Noob Saibot, Sektor, and Cyrax were recently revealed to be coming to Mortal Kombat 1 via the Kombat Pack 2. Noob Saibot, Sektor, and Cyrax will be available together starting on September 24 along with the Khaos Reigns story expansion.
However, it turns out that there are more surprises for Mortal Kombat fans that have yet to be announced. During a recent interview at San Diego Comic Con, Ed Boon revealed that there’s a secret Easter egg present in the Khaos Reigns update.
“Are there any other Easter eggs that are part of the expansion?” This was the question that prompted an interesting response from Ed Boon.
“Yes there is,” simply responded Boon. “There’s a big one that we’re just not announcing. When we did the first Mortal Kombat game, we put in a character called Reptile, and we never told anyone. The idea was to make it really rare, make it feel like a rumor, but it’s actually there, and we want to do something like that again.”
In the original Mortal Kombat, the secret Reptile fight could be accessed by pulling off a double flawless victory against the CPU on “The Pit” stage. This must also be done without pressing the block button.
Additionally, the player must perform a Fatality against the opponent. Finally, this will only work in instances in which a silhouette passes over the moon, which only happens once every six games.
Based on Ed Boon’s phrasing, the unlock requirements for this secret Easter egg will be just as cryptic in the Khaos Reigns update.
Ed Boon hints that there is a “BIG” unannounced easter egg AND OR character in the Khaos Reigns expansion.
