Pleasant Home (1-5, 0-4 1A Region 2) will play its third straight home game and face a big challenge this week against Elba (5-2, 3-1) on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m.
This will be the fifth meeting between the teams since they first played in 2018. The Tigers lead the all-time series 4-0 over the Eagles.
“Elba is Elba. They have two D1 players that really make the difference for them,” Head Coach Kevin Bond said. “We will be focusing on containing them. We have to be able to control the time of possession, score, and win the turnover battle.”
Last week, Pleasant Home fell to McKenzie, 50-8. Elba picked up a road win at Red Level, 46-6.
Bond said his team had a chance in its previous game with McKenzie despite the final outcome.
“We had our opportunities to win the game early. We got some turnovers we did not capitalize on. We turned the ball over too much ourselves. Our defense played great early on, but we have to be able to take advantage of the stops we get and score points,” Bond said.
The Tigers defended their home field with a 61-14 win over the Eagles in 2023.
