Relevo report that Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle United have all spent time scouting Gabri Veiga this season, but the 20-year-old midfielder won’t come cheap.
Relevo claim Celta de Vigo won’t negotiate for less than Veiga’s €40m release clause, and the player isn’t desperate to leave, so he’s unlikely to push for his club to change that stance.
The youngster is comfortable with his current club and feels valued, though Celta would likely need to increase his wages to keep him happy if he stays beyond this season.
Spanish outlet Faro De Vigo previously reported that Arsenal are closely monitoring Veiga, adding that multiple European clubs are tracking him.
AS also claimed that Arsenal were considering Veiga as a potential option to bolster their midfield.
As it stands, all the talk about a move seems to be coming from Spain, with none of the major English sources getting involved. But that could change as the summer window gets closer.
Celta are undoubtedly going to be keen to tie Veiga down to an extension if they can.
The midfielder has eight goals and three assists in 23 appearances in La Liga this season, having made just 15 starts.
A Spanish u21 international on top of his club exploits, Veiga looks certain to attract plenty of suitors in the coming months if his current form continues.
