As a result, Nigeria will face the US, the defending champions. This will be the second time the two nations meet at the Olympics, with the US having defeated D’Tigress by 9 points during the Tokyo 2020 Games. The teams also met during the 2024 Olympic qualifiers, where the Americans secured a decisive win.
