Driver – Weco at Epiroc March, 2025

Mission:

• To provide reliable, timely, and secure logistical support to sales function while ensuring customer satisfaction through professionalism, efficiency, and care. Committed to safe driving, excellent service, and exceeding expectations with every delivery.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Schedules daily tasks by planning the route to minimize down time and save costs, advising schedulers and planners of ways to optimize the routes.                            
• Always ensures that they have the correct documentation in their possession to carry out the tasks assigned.                    
• Confirm the goods loaded onto the vehicle are correctly recorded in the accompanying paperwork and to request clarification if necessary.                     
• Check and confirm that all issued paperwork (invoices, delivery notes, collections notes) clearly record the quantity, amount, description, contents of the goods loaded or unloaded.                               
• Checks vehicle against OHS compliance criteria before each trip and when taking over a vehicle from another driver.  Follow all safety guidelines in terms of OHS/ISO processes                      
• Safely load and secure goods in the load bay to minimize loss and damage – use correcting lifting equipment and strapping in accordance with insurance Goods in Transit requirements.
• Does not ever overload the vehicle.                       
• Reports to the logistics team through constant communication via WhatsApp or similarly on whereabouts and routes to improve on the work schedules and reduce unnecessary costs.                      
• Submit time sheets and trip reports in support of daily routes                
• Report all accidents and near misses to the warehouse team leader.                 
• Report all accidents at police station and collects all information about the third party, including photographs of the site and scene of an accident.                       
• Report any request from a customer or supplier to be involved in any illegal activity, bribery, corruption, removal of stolen property or financial reward for carrying out any request, duty or action that may damage Weco’s brand name and image.

Skill, competence and experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of driving experience.        
• Strong administration ability.   
• Good logistics understanding, efficient routes & trip planning.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer literacy. (Operate navigation tools & applications)
• Technologically savvy
• Attention to detail
• Drivers license code 10
