Bandai Namco took special care to pay ample homage to the source material when they developed Dragon Ball FighterZ, and in doing so was sure to add a cinematic element that perfectly sprinkles storytelling amid all the fighting action. Characters have unique interactions with one another, often referencing major manga moments when particular fighters meet, and no one has taken advantage of this content more effectively than Shoyoumomo.
The YouTuber has been creating wonderfully comedic videos that look more like Dragon Ball Z episodes than they do DBFZ footage, and his latest “DBFZ: Interrupting Victory Screens 2!” video is one of his best yet. Things start off straightforward enough as Android 18 and Cell do battle in a traditional DBFZ match, but things take a wild twist when Cell scores a victory and goes into his post-match win sequence.
With the use of mods along with some immaculate editing, Shoyoumomo brings Krillin into the background to avenge the defeat of his beloved bride. Goku’s bald buddy uses a Destructo Disk to cut Cell’s celebration in half which… leaves Krillin to launch into his own victory sequence.
As he talks smack to the halved Cell, an eerily familiar purple aura begins to surround him and he slowly starts to levitate upwards. Krillin exits the spotlight as quickly as he assumed it thanks to Frieza, who recreates their iconic interaction back on Namek.
Things continue on like this as characters continue to interrupt and murder one another with pristine comedic timing. Shoyou plays brilliantly with seemingly innocuous details and uses character personalities perfectly in the fluid story he winds up telling here.
Our favorite might be the interaction between Vegeta and the game’s pair of Brolys, but there are more than a few highlight moments that could very well take the cake here.
Give the video a watch, be sure to sub to Shoyoumomo’s channel on YouTube as he’s always good for entertaining content, and let us know in the comments which parts of this video landed hardest with you.
