Dragon Ball FighterZ fans are awaiting the arrival of the game’s next balance update. Back in June, Bandai Namco announced that on top of the next Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour being en route that fans can also expect to see the title receive another set of balance changes.
Originally, a date wasn’t revealed for when we’d see the next balance patch, but the developers behind the title did note that it should be expected after Evo 2024, which ran in mid July. Now, it appears an official release date for Dragon Ball FighterZ’s next balance update has been revealed, and it’ll be in the hands of the public this week.
“DRAGON BALL FighterZ Balance Adjustment Patch ‘Version 1.38’ coming September 4th (Wed)!” wrote the official Dragon Ball Games Twitter account, which actively posts important updates about Dragon Ball-related media.
The tweet goes on to say that the version 1.38 patch is also coming to the Nintendo Switch version of the game, but at a later time. A release date for it will be unveiled once it is confirmed.
Back in June, Dragon Ball FighterZ Producer Tomoko Hiroki shared a message to fans announcing the upcoming balance update.
“In addition to the rollback implementation, we’ll be making further balance adjustments,” Hiroki said. “We’ll share the exact timing and details as they become available. Please stay tuned.”
The new Dragon Ball FighterZ balance patch is coming this Wednesday, but at the time of writing this we don’t have many details about what to expect.

After nearly an 18 month wait, Bandai Namco released the highly anticipated rollback netcode update for Dragon Ball FighterZ, though it was plagued by strange visual glitches when it first dropped. Just a couple of months after that, the developers released another update to fix these major visual bugs.
It seems as though the team behind Dragon Ball FighterZ is still interested in supporting the game, both functionality-wise and on the competitive end of things.
At this time, though, we have heard no word on a potential Season 4 of DLC characters following the release of the game’s last additional fighter, SS4 Gogeta, back in early 2021.
