Dragon Ball FighterZ may be done receiving new characters and content, but the community has taken up the mantle of adding in what they’d like to see and play.
Prominent modders WistfulHopes and RCBurrito have been showing off an important feature tool they’ve been working on that will open up a whole new set of doors for DBFZ.
As first shown off by Ryn, they’ve figured out how to add new character slots on the character select screen for custom fighters.
Like the similar issue Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 faced, players looking to use modded characters would have to replace an actual member of the roster to use them.
Soon, those custom characters like RCBurrito’s Orange Piccolo (or Ryn’s Sol Badguy) can be put on the same team as their regular counterparts while having unique movesets and the works.
HEY BITCHES
CUSTOM CHARACTERS *WITH THEIR OWN SLOTS* IN DBFZ ARE REAL NOW.

That’ll open up what’s possible with modding in a much wider fashion and will hopefully push even more support to the fan-favorite game similarly to what we’ve seen for UMvC3.
We also couldn’t help but notice that the Gokus on RCBurrito’s team were in their base forms too, so maybe there’s something more for transformations as well.
The character select mod isn’t available to the public yet it seems, but at this rate, it’ll probably come before FighterZ finally gets its rollback netcode upgrade.
