Dragon Ball FighterZ fans universally seem to be baffled by the newest patch

Back in June, it was announced that the Dragon Ball FighterZ developers had another balance patch in the works. Though it was set to become available sometime after Evo 2024, version 1.38 was released just earlier today.

Changes have been implemented for every character in Dragon Ball FighterZ. However, longtime fans of the series are having a difficult time taking some of these changes seriously.

Universally, characters are now capable of chaining special moves into different special moves while Sparking Blast is in effect. Along with this, characters like Super Saiyan Vegeta have been given an alternate variations of some of their special moves that, despite being functionally identical, are performed with different inputs.

For all intents and purposes, Vegeta’s Ki Blast Rush special now counts as two entirely separate moves. This means that Vegeta can effectively chain a barrage of projectiles into another barrage of projectiles while Sparking Blast is active.

Some fans have noted that the changes to Dragon Ball FighterZ reminds them of Street Fighter 2: Rainbow Edition, an official version of Street Fighter 2 developed by hackers that made every single character absolutely ridiculous.

Initially, it seemed like INZEM, the Evo 2024 champion, was beginning to praise the latest patch with one of his recent Tweets.

“This patch has genuinely exceeded all my expectations…” begun INZEM.

However, it turned out that he was merely leading up to how he believes the patch just seems to make things even worse compared to the previous update.

“I thought after the last version of the game, it would be impossible to make it worse, but somehow they always manage,” declared INZEM.
