Double Stabbing at High School in Hells Kitchen – NYC

May 14, 2024 MANHATTAN, New York – Police responded to a reported double stabbing Tuesday afternoon at a High School in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood in NYC.

Two male students got into a physical altercation that turned violent when one was slashed in the face, and the other knifed in the chest, cops said.

Both students were hospitalized and taken into custody with charges pending. The pair suffered only minor injuries.

We spoke with Caden Fajardo a student attending a JROTC ceremony at the school when the incident occurred.

Caden stated the stabbing incident disrupted the ceremony for a lot of students whose parents were not able to enter the building because the school went into lockdown during the incident.

“I’m just really nervous. Like you know, I’m very worried, that all of this happened. It’s very rare that something like this would occur and I find it very unfortunate that this had to happen at this campus. Especially when there is elementary school children and middle school children.” said Caden Fajardo.

According to police radio the incident occurred around 1:30pm, at a High School building that houses multiple different schools on West 49th Street near 10th Avenue in the Manhattan, NYC.

The institutions include the Stephen T. Mather Building Arts & Craftsmanship High School, Urban Assembly Gateway School for Technology and Success Academy Charter School – Midtown West Middle School.
