Naomi:“I think bike lanes are definitely beneficial. We have car lanes, so we should also have bike lanes. Biking is environmentally friendly and a means for many individuals to get to work. So, yes, we should have bike lanes. It keeps bicyclists safe, ensures that cars stay in the correct lanes they are supposed to use, and makes sure that everyone is safe. So, yes, we should have bike lanes.” Lorenzo:“I do think bike lanes are beneficial in Seattle. Traffic is getting heavier, and I think that commuting on bikes is definitely a good way to get around the city.” Marquel:“My opinion on bike lanes is that they are not useful because people who ride bikes and scooters do not utilize the bike lanes; they use the streets, in front of cars. I don’t get the point when people don’t even use them. So again, in my opinion, they are not beneficial. The city just added them to take up space.” Sentoria:“Yes, I think they work and serve a purpose. I just moved here, and when I first moved here, I was thinking, why are these people in the street? But now I understand the purpose of bike lanes, and I think that they help.” Habib:“I hate bike lanes. I feel like it is a risk for the bikers and the drivers. There is a lot more risk trying to avoid people in the bike lanes, and I just don’t feel like the Seattle streets have enough space for bike lanes, especially if you have a walking lane as well.” Darlend:“Absolutely, they are very useful because you save gas by commuting by bicycle.” Source General News World
