This role is responsible for translating scientific information about nutrition into practical advice to help patients make health-conscious food choices.
The dietitian will also assess, diagnose and treat diet-related problems aimed to raise awareness of the link between food and health to prevent future problems

Responsibilities

Clinical Service Delivery:

Practice as a member of an interdisciplinary team to determine the nutritional needs of patients
Plan, calculate and transcribe therapeutic diet for patients.
oFeeding of the critically ill, via the preparation of Nasogastric Tube feeds.
Responsible for the nutritional rehabilitation of malnourished adults and children in the clinic.
Answer all questions and concerns of the patients, providing them with appropriate responses and putting the patient’s condition into the context of their needs.
Provide advice, teaching and instruction to patients to ensure a consistent approach to patient care.
Communicate effectively with patients to maximize recuperation and to ensure understanding of the condition.
Ensure that patients are appropriately informed and reassured of patient’s dietary needs.

Job Requirements

Education:

Minimum Requirements: B.Sc / HND in Human Nutrition and Dietetics or Food Science / Culinary Science.
oAdded Advantage: Membership of the Dietetics Council of Nigeria.

Experience:

Work Experience: Minimum: 2 years
Added Advantage: 5 years.
