Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Hire Resolves client is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their team in Wetton, Western Cape. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing diesel engines, as well as a thorough understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on diesel engines, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and coolant flushes
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in diesel engines
- Inspect and test diesel engines to ensure they are functioning properly
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the repair process
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding work status and any potential issues
Requirements:
- Qualified Diesel/ Earthmoving Mechanic or Equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Minimum 2 Years Experience
- Experience and knowledge of earthmoving and construction machinery
- Experience and working knowledge of related disciplines, preventative maintenance principles, SA National Road Traffic Act and related legislation and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
- Fault- finding
- Repair cost estimates
- Planet assessments and quality control
- Ordering of parts and materials and the controlling of costs
- Minor and major repairs both in a workshop environment and on site
- The ability to multi-task and work under pressure
