One of the few detractors for Street Fighter 6 as a package is its uneven soundtrack (at least in the base game), but now there’s another strong new piece of music to add to the collection.
Devil May Cry 5 composer Casey Edwards recently dropped a new track in Street Fighter 6, and you can listen to it officially online now too.
The new track is called Street Swing, and it’s certainly got quite the groove to it.
Casey Edwards is of course most well known in the Capcom sphere for his work on DMC5’s Devil Trigger and Bury the light, though this one is a bit different than those rocking pieces.
According to his X profile, the award-nominated composer has also worked on Mortal Kombat 1 as well as the upcoming 2XKO, so we’ll be hearing more from him in the future too.
Edwards says Street Swing was made as a love letter to early ’90s hip hop and Teddy Riley with a New Jack Swing style used and built upon.
Working on SF6 gave me an opportunity to write a love letter to early 90s hip hop. More specifically one of my bigger influences, Teddy Riley. His New Jack Swing style has been branded in my brain for decades. Plz enjoy STREET SWING! Read YT info for morehttps://t.co/Y2Rv4c9Gz4

The track provides some of his signature heavy electronics as well as some swing, groove and funk to the mix with that hip hop flavor.
This is not the first time the game has featured guests artists with DK Rap and Banjo-Kazooie composer Grant Kirkhope providing a track to Street Fighter 6 last year too.
Players will instantly get the song by simply logging into the game, which you can then listen to in battle by going to the Character BGM Settings in SF6.
You can check out Street Swing for yourself below and have a good listen or five.
