Manchester United are closing in on their first major signing of the January transfer window.
Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu is set to join the Red Devils after days of negotiations.
United have been slow in the market but are now accelerating their transfer plans.
Ruben Amorim’s inconsistent start has forced the club to strengthen key positions.
The manager’s 3-4-3 system has lacked balance, especially on the left flank.
Diogo Dalot has struggled at left-wing-back, exposing United’s need for reinforcements.

Patrick Dorgu, a natural left-footer, is seen as the ideal solution to that problem.
United began talks with Lecce last week but faced resistance from the Italian side.
Lecce are battling relegation and did not want to lose a key player in January.
Despite this, United have pushed hard and are now close to securing a deal.
Reports from Italy suggest the Red Devils will pay around £31.5 million for Dorgu.
Solo Lecce also claim his wages will start at €2 million per year at Old Trafford.
This equates to approximately £38,500 per week, rising to £57,500 per week by year five.
Dorgu’s transfer will break Lecce’s record for an outgoing sale, previously £16 million.
That record was set when Lecce sold Morten Hjulmand to Ruben Amorim’s Sporting CP.

Tuttomercatoweb have described the deal as a “masterpiece” for Lecce.
The club signed Dorgu for a low fee and have now flipped him for a huge profit.
Dorgu has been one of the standout young talents in Serie A this season.
The 19-year-old is known for his speed, dribbling, and tenacity in attacking scenarios.
United will hope he adapts quickly and becomes a key part of Amorim’s setup.
His arrival should finally provide balance to the left side of United’s formation.
Fans are eager to see how he performs in the intensity of the Premier League.
Dorgu’s signing could be the first of several moves before the window closes.
United’s focus now turns to outgoings, with Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho linked with moves.
