Manchester United are determined to sign Patrick Dorgu from Lecce this month.
The Red Devils are desperate to sign a left-back as a priority, with significant issues in the role for over a year.
Luke Shaw has been in and out of the treatment room on a regular basis, with Tyrell Malacia only recently returned from long-term injury.
As such, a reliable replacement is needed.
Patrick Dorgu is a fantastic option, providing versatility by playing for Lecce on the right wing despite being a left-back.
This attacking ability is exactly what Ruben Amorim is wanting in his left-wing-back, with Amad Diallo routinely playing well in the same role on the right flank.
Now, Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed that representatives of United have met with their Lecce counterparts in Italy today.
Describing the attendance, Di Marzio commented: “The intermediaries of the operation, Leon Angel and Frank Trimboli, of the CAA Base agency, and Matt Hargreaves, Director of Football Negotiations of Manchester United, are in Milan and met in the afternoon with the Lecce management, represented by the director Pantaleo Corvino and the president Saverio Sticchi Damiani.”
United are reportedly yet to meet Lecce’s request of €30 million plus €5 million in add-ons. As such, the Italian side are refusing to agree on the deal until their price is met.
