Desk showcases bizarre and likely unintentional interaction involving Ed's Psycho Flicker in Street Fighter 6

Ed has recently become playable in Street Fighter 6. Different from how he was in Street Fighter 5, Ed is now the traditional boxer of Street Fighter 6, though he also employs his Psycho Powers for a number of his attacks.

In particular, his Psycho Flicker special is an excellent space controlling tool that can also initiate or extend combos if the player holds the button for a brief moment. Recently, Desk, on his Twitter account, highlighted a bizarre interaction that can happen with Ed’s Psycho Flicker.

In the first clip, Desk has Dhalsim moving behind Ed as he’s charging his Psycho Flicker. Desk then has Dhalsim stick out a limb, which is beaten cleanly by Ed’s Psycho Flicker while facing the wrong direction.

However, this resulted in Dhalsim not getting reeled in by Ed as we typically see with the charged version of the Psycho Flicker. It turns out that Psycho Flicker is made up of two separate hits. Of course, this is correctly indicated in the combo counter whenever it hits.

With the right set of circumstances, only the first hit of a charged Psycho Flicker will hit. The opponent will take damage, but they’ll be left standing. Essentially, this is the uncharged portion of Psycho Flicker hitting, but with extended reach.
