Combo extraordinaire Desk continues to excavate everything he can out of classic fighting games. After over a month of work and recording 170 clips, his latest work brings fans a detailed exploration of the original Marvel vs. Capcom’s seven secret characters.

As many know, the likes of Red Venom, Gold War Machine, Shadow Lady Chun-Li, and more are accessible in MvC through a variety of different methods, and each comes equipped with new (often overpowered) techniques for players to harness. Desk runs us through each of these mysterious warriors, their references, abilities, infinites, glitches, and everything a fighting game fan could hope for.

Kicking things off with Gold War Machine, we learn that the armored combatant’s appearance takes inspiration from Iron Man’s MK.II armor that made its first appearance in the Tales of Suspense comic books back in 1963. This version of War Machine has a fairly simple infinite combo using just three different jumping normal attacks, and he differentiates himself from standard War Machine by using missiles instead of lasers for projectiles.

Gold War Machine is unable to block, but has hyper armor at all times allowing him to plow through any attack that might come his way. We’re also treated to a strange interaction between two Gold War Machines firing crouching heavy punch at each other.

Desk also teaches us about the playable version of Onslaught — Marvel vs. Capcom’s big boss character. This massive baddie is only playable in the PlayStation 1 version of Marvel vs. Capcom, and Desk notes that this version of the game actually has some different system mechanics that make way for new combo options for some characters.

Naturally, Onslaught has several infinite combos that can be as easy as performing his Mind Blast special move over and over again. His move set heavily takes after Magneto’s, which we see on full display here in the video.
