Job Purpose

Executes the Services Engineering activities in the project
Main interface between product development Engineering team Rolling Stock(RS) and manage both the Integrated Services Readiness (ISR) and Maintenance Teams on deliverables during the product development phase i.e. To be involved in Rolling stock Design For Quality (DFQ) cycle for managing the Designs/ Changes to be ready for maintenance and after warranty phase during maintenance activities
Main driver of maintenance activities and all associated developments and strategies

Key Responsibilities

ISR

The production of Engineering Documents
(Maintenance documentation, Training, Special tools and test benches, Spare parts)
Manage ISR activities for DFQ and Design for Serviceability (DFS).
Manage coordination with central Function and other Métier or Function to ensure integration and compliancy with standard and best practice (REF LIBRARY/ DFS, etc)
Promote usage of standard ISR practice compliant with international standard or central procedures and Method & Tools
Capitalize data to improve QCD on future projects
Coordinate production of Return of Experience (REX) report upon execution with focus on applicable ISR Ref Library update, identified needs for process improvements and possible proposals for best practices

Maintenance

Ensure all Work Instructions (WI), Maintenance Instructions (MI), Maintenance and Safety Bulletins including all other associated Risk assessments necessary are produced to the relevant standard and presented for sign off in a timely manner.
Produce clear and concise technical documentation in the form of specifications, test procedures, modification instructions, maintenance and safety instructions and technical reports.
Lead optimisation of the maintenance schedule and casualty repair procedures considering service experience and Operations feedback including:
Justification of inspection periodicity
Specification of materials and tools
Arranging and carrying out validation of tasks
Carrying out product/process audits of depot maintenance and casualty repairs
Assist the customer or the company Front office as necessary to diagnose train defects where technicians require guidance.
Escort the Customer during Routine Condition Audits and undertake product and process audits as required ensuring the integrity of the fleet and maintenance processes
Manage the production and maintenance of the Bill of Material (BoM), and WI.
Manage the production of the preventive & corrective & overhaul LCC
Continually review all Maintenance, Reliability, Overhaul, and associated documents to ensure all are up to date and correctly formatted
Assist in parts identification, creation of material reference numbers and obsolescence management.
Produce, update training material, and perform training externally and to the internal team.
Act as a technical expert continuously develop expertise in selected field
Continuously improve Training material and sustain Trainer qualification in order to provide Training courses at the expected service level
Obtain Training accreditation i.e (SETA, TETA, etc)
Support the Hotline / Help desk service to the customer at the expected service level

Minimum Requirements

BSc/B.Eng. Degree (Mechanical Engineering) with 3 years working experience, rail knowledge is advantageous.
BSc/B.Eng. Degree (Mechatronics Engineering) will be considered.
Registered or Registerable as a Professional Engineer with ECSA
Knowledge of subsystem engineering
Safety and Engineering standards knowledge, rail knowledge is advantageous
Knowledge of Reliability, Accessibility and Maintainability Aspects
Life Cycle Cost/ Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) experience
Working knowledge of safety management systems and safety risk assessments
Proficient in the use of MS Office, SAP (System Analysis Program)/GSI (Global Simple Instance)
Problem Solving capacity (Technical and cost evaluation of a solution)
Capacity of managing Technical Risks
Solid decision making and critical thinking
