Deontay Wilder could be ordered to face Joe Joyce vs Joseph Parker winner for WBC heavyweight world title if Tyson Fury retires and vacates belt
Tyson Fury has declared that he will be retiring from boxing following his win over Dillian Whyte on Saturday night.
The WBC heavyweight champion of the world successfully defended his title by KOing his British rival at Wembley and insisted after the triumph that he is standing by his pre-fight retirement claim.

Few truly believe that we’ll never see Fury in the ring again and he is yet to vacate his WBC belt.
However, should he prove everybody wrong and do so, it would be interesting to see who gets the shot at the vacant crown.
As things stand, former long-reigning champion Deontay Wilder remains in the number one spot in the WBC rankings, despite his defeats to Fury.
This puts him in pole position to fight for the title, but his hypothetical opponent could be decided in the coming months.
At present, Joe Joyce is ranked number two by the WBC and Joseph Parker is ranked number three.
The pair are now finalising contracts to meet on July 2 at Wembley Arena with the winner irrefutably set to cement their status in the number two position.

Joyce told White and Jordan on talkSPORT on Thursday: “I’m ready and I’m undefeated.
“I’m just excited to put on a great show.
“Joseph Parker’s a great fighter. Outside of the top four, it’s the best fight for me.
“I’m ready and waiting to lace the gloves up, get in the ring and smash him up…
“It’s all exciting now, there’s plenty of good heavyweights out there to fight.
“I’m edging closer to the inner circle. I’ve just got Joseph Parker to beat.
“Let’s see what happens with these other fights and see if Fury stays in retirement.”
