British Andy Murray beats American Steve Johnson 6-0 4-6 7-6 (7-2) in a bit to defend the title he’s been holding since 2012 London Olympic as he reached the semi-finals of the Olympic men’s singles in Tennis.
Murray cruised through the first set, before world number 22 Johnson levelled after breaking the Briton’s serve in the first game of the second set. Johnson broke again in the third, but Murray rallied and won in a tie-break.
The world Number spoke his mind after the game, with credits to his American opponent as he finally sailed through the tough game in Rio de Janeiro.
“It was tough,” said the Scot of his win over Johnson. “I got off to a great start and then Steve started to play much better. “We didn’t get to practise before the match as much because of the rain so he may have started a bit slow because of that, but when he started to find his rhythm, it was a very tough match and I just managed to turn it around in the end.” Murray Said.
