There’s probably always going to be the endless debate over who wins between Dragon Ball’s Son Goku and Superman, but what of two similarly powered super fathers?
Death Battle has finally returned with their first full production since Warner Bros. shut down Rooster Teeth earlier this year, and they’ve certainly come back with a big bang between Goku’s dad Bardock and Invincible’s Omni-Man.
Just in time for the release of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, the doomed Saiyan warrior has to face off against one of the strongest Viltrumites in the galaxy.
The team starts out by looking at Omni-Man’s ridiculous feats and biology where they estimate Viltrumites can somehow fly 20 billion times faster than the speed of light flying through space while holding their breath for weeks at a time.
And then there’s of course smart atoms that let him adapt his body as needed to overcome almost any obstacle ahead, including planets.
And judging by their calculations, Omni-Man must really be holding back against everyone in Mortal Kombat 1.
On the other hand, Bardock comes from another warrior race with the Saiyans with their own powers and attributes that stand out from the competition here including the great ape transformation and ability to control ki for projectiles.
Plus, they calculate Dragon Ball characters like the Saiyans can move even faster than the Viltrumites by their calculations.
Bardock himself, however, was considered a low-class warrior, which should technically make him weaker than the likes of Nappa, but the original animated special did put his power level around an impressive 10,000 for the time.
The Death Battle crew also gave him an extra ace up his sleeve beyond indominable will with Bardock’s not so canon Super Saiyan form.
As for the true fight itself, the action begins around the 13:40 mark where Bardock lands on a planet only to be immediately confronted by Omni-Man.
We’re then treated to fun 3D animation where they show off beatdowns, ki blasts, and transformations before eventually declaring a winner.
It wouldn’t be a Death Battle event, though, without a ton of fan debate, especially when Dragon Ball is involved.
We aren’t going to spoil all that here with our own opinions on the outcome (yet) and what others are Saiyan, but you can easily find them in the comments here, on the YouTube page and social media once you’re done with the video.
