Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is getting 17 additional costumes that pull from Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, and Resident Evil

Capcom has just concluded their latest Capcom Next Summer 2024 presentation to discuss and showcase some of the titles they have coming up here in the next few months. While we knew what the broadcast would entail — more importantly that we wouldn’t be seeing any major fighting game reveals this time around — it seems that the company still slipped in a little something that fighting game fans will undoubtedly like to know about.

When discussing the upcoming title Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Capcom announced some of the additional content coming included with the various purchase options. Apparently, if you pick up the digital deluxe edition of this title, you will receive 17 additional costumes whose silhouettes very closely resemble various classic Capcom characters.

During the showcase, Capcom took the time to have several of the new Dead Rising’s developers talk more about the upcoming title. We were treated to a look at just how much the visuals have improved since we last saw the first title in the series 18 years ago, as well as some of the various quality of life changes coming to the game.

At the end of the segment, however, an infographic was displayed that detailed some of the perks you get for purchasing the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster digital deluxe edition (say that five times fast). Included with this buffed up purchase option is 17 additional costumes for protagonist Frank West that though we don’t have the identities for just yet, Capcom revealed silhouettes for the whole lot of them.

Looking more closely at these outlines, we noticed that several of them appear to resemble a variety of different Capcom characters, with some seemingly pulled from Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, Resident Evil, and more.

Among the pack, we spot who we believe to be Final Fight/Street Fighter Alpha’s Sodom, Rikuo from Darkstalkers, Street Fighter’s Ken, Tron Bonne of Mega Man Legends and Marvel vs. Capcom 3 fame, and several others.

The official contents description for this package bonus adds further veracity to our guesses. From the looks of it, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster’s digital deluxe edition comes packed with the following:

Contents:

– Main Game

– Costumes & BGM: Willamette Parkview Mall Pack

– Costumes & BGM: Resident Evil Heroes Pack

– Costumes & BGM: Resident Evil Villains Pack

– Costumes & BGM: Mega Man Pack

– Costumes & BGM: Capcom Fighters Pack

The costume pack breakdown details exactly what we’re going to see here, though it doesn’t reveal the identities just yet. We can deduce based on the image, however, who is who and what is potentially what.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is receiving a Resident Evil Heroes costume pack, Resident Evil Villains, Mega Man, and Capcom Fighters pack as well. You will find the guesses we have for each additional costume in the gallery below, and the ones marked “Dead Rising References” will likely be the ones relegated to the “Willamette Parkview Mall Pack,” which happens to be the name of the mall in Dead Rising.

The Dead Rising series is no stranger to having costumes for Frank that dress him up like other popular Capcom characters. In the first game, Frank West has a full Mega Man outfit he can find and wear, and we even saw special Street Fighter-themed costumes added to Dead Rising 4.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster’s digital deluxe edition is set for release (digitally, obviously) on September 19, 2024. A physical release of the title is slated for launch sometime this November.
