David Ornstein has now confirmed that Manchester United are conducting negations for a new left back.
The club have been desperate to sign a left back for some time with the long-term injuries with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
To much surprise, The Red Devils didn’t sign a left-back in the summer transfer window despite relying on Diogo Dalot to cover the role.
Now, with United looking to loan out Tyrell Malacia and with Luke Shaw still injured, a left-back is vital over the coming weeks.
Heading into the January transfer window, United were monitoring situations surrounding Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich, Rayan Ait-Nouri of Wolves, Milos Kerkez of Bournemouth and Patrick Dorgu of Lecce.
Now, David Ornstein has confirmed recent talks between United and Lecce over the availability of Patrick Dorgu.

Manchester United in talks for Patrick Dorgu
The versatile left-back is currently being used as a right-winger for the Serie A side, showing off his range on the pitch, showing his ability to fit into Amorim’s system as an attacking wing-back.
United sent scouts to Italy back in December to watch the 20-year-old first hand, seeing Lecce draw 1-1 with Juventus.
Whilst nothing has been agreed as of yet between United and Lecce, the talks are reported as progressing well.
However, with Dorgu’s contract running until 2028, Lecce are in a strong position for negotiations.
With Alejandro Garnacho seemingly likely to depart from Old Trafford this month, moving to Napoli, some of the funds from his sale may be needed to secure a deal for Dorgu.
