Database Design
In close collaboration with Solutions Owners and Architecture Teams, set up standards for databases, recommend good practices for use by development teams.
Make the choices for the implementation of the databases in compliance with the specifications and in collaboration with the various project stakeholders (project manager, architects, integrators, ERP consultants, business intelligence experts, etc.).
Optimally define database parameters.
Define data security rules (physical and logical) as well as standards for the use of databases.
Model the base and design the tables and keys.
Consider the specificities of the internal or external customer in collaboration with the infrastructure architect, particularly about the size of the database (capacity planning).
Database administration and maintenance
Create the databases and implement the data on the physical media / AZURE DaaS / Private Cloud
Ensure capacity planning for IT Infrastructure
Manage IT Hardware resources
Guarantee the availability and quality of data by maintaining and improving performance ("tuning") and functionalities (by improving their automation, optimizing processing and queries, settings, etc.).
Track the statistics of the performance of access to the objects of the database to ensure tuning.
Management of scalabilities (volume monitoring, etc.) on the data access aspect.
Administer user access permissions and data security issues with the security engineer.
Manage version migrations.
Update programs and correct any bugs (patches) and give approval before going into production.
Recommend backup systems to be carried out by the operating departments to ensure the integrity of all the data in the database, in particular, the archiving and purging of data.
Define quality standards and develop dashboards and monitor them.
General
Ensure an ITIL MIS support process (single point of contact for helpdesk, ITSM ticketing, troubleshooting, logs analyse, reporting, Centreon monitoring) for users in the scope of work.
Ensure production follow-up on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
Manage IT Infrastructure projects/major change in the state of the art: express of needs from users, planning of implementation (priorities), specifications book, tender, supplier choice, user acceptance test.
Must be the custodian of the group norms and policies respect: Use only Business applications/MIS services compliant with company IT catalogue.
Apply Group security and licensing policies.
Manage IT Infrastructure related contracts and SLA: Review supplier’s contracts making sure they are in accordance with requirements, meeting company expectations. Eventually apply the penalties for non-compliancy.
Maintain and update documentation of procedures and configurations.
Ensure IT Infrastructure management is compliant with ISO processes, ITIL processes and QHSE processes.
Techno watch, anticipate new technologies.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
7 to 13 years relevant experience in IT
Master’s degree in information technology or computer science
Minimum 8 years’ experience in supporting and maintaining Microsoft Systems and Databases.
Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2019, 2022
Management of operations on virtualized and distributed infrastructures,
Management of operations on environment with clustering, replication, load balancer
ITIL Practitioner (V3) / ITIL Specialist (V4)
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator – Requirement
Strong knowledge in Microsoft Active Directory environment is an added advantage.
