The future of Ogun State shone brightly on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Dare Adeboye Foundation Scholarship Scheme Award Ceremony that took place at the Redemption City of God, Ogun State, Nigeria.
Established in memory of the late Pastor Oluwadamilare Adeboye, son of renowned Pentecostal leader Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the foundation ignited dreams and celebrated academic excellence during an event that recognized exceptional senior secondary students from underprivileged backgrounds across Ogun State by empowering them with financial support to pursue their academic dreams.
The sum of 50,000 naira was given to 150 students from diverse backgrounds, including Ofada Community Comprehensive High School, Gbegira Community Model High School, Sagamu High School, and Baptist Girls College, Abeokuta, among other 15 public secondary schools were chosen through a rigorous selection process.
This process evaluated their academic excellence, character, commitment to education as well as their financial backgrounds.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including Pastor Oluwagbemileke Adeboye, Chairman of the Dare Adeboye Foundation Board of Trustees, his wife Pastor (Mrs.) Titilope Adeboye, and emphasized the importance of sustaining our Pastor Dare Adeboye’s vision and legacies.
In a welcome address by a representative of the Dare Adeboye Foundation, emphasis was laid on one of the initiative’s core purposes – to support exceptional students from underprivileged backgrounds in fulfilling their academic aspirations, inspired by the late Pastor Dare Adeboye’s dedication to education.
The keynote address by Pastor (Mrs.) Eyono Fatai-Williams, CEO of Africa Missions Global, served as a clarion call to the awardees. “Don’t settle for average,” she urged. “This scholarship signifies your distinction. Use it to excel and become leaders who stand out in every aspect of life.”
The Permanent Secretary of Ogun State’s Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, represented by Pastor S.O Odewole, underscored the critical role education plays in community development and lauded the Dare Adeboye Foundation’s commitment to empowering future generations stating, “We are made to make others, blessed to be a blessing to others.”
The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from Pastor Femi Oyetunde, Executive Director, The MMPraise Hub, who expressed gratitude to the Dare Adeboye Foundation board, students, parents, and the organizing team for making the event a success.
The Dare Adeboye Foundation Scholarship Scheme is a beacon of hope, illuminating the path for deserving students and paving the way for a brighter future for Ogun State and beyond.
