Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, an elder statesman and business expert, has donated N1.5bn to the people of Borno who were recently displaced by the flood.
Dantata donated while leading a Kano delegation to the Government House in Maiduguri on Tuesday.
He expressed his profound condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum, the government, and the people of the state, particularly those who lost loved ones in the disaster.
Dantata decried the country’s deteriorating economy and encouraged elites and political leaders to repent and fear Allah in their dealings while also praying for peace and unity across Nigeria.
Responding, Governor Zulum expressed profound gratitude to Elder Stateman for his kind gestures towards the plight of the state noting that the kind act shows hope in a greater Nigeria.
“The people of Borno deeply appreciate this show of humanity by a 96-year-old to visit us. Let me say it, Our Baba has donated the sum of N1.5 billion to support the flood victims. May Allah bless and reward you with Aljannah. Mu gode, Baba,” Zulum said.
