DAMNING: Facts about the new IG of Police, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris!

Yesterday 21 June 2016 the substantive Inspector General of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) was announced. He is Mr Ibrahim Kpotun Idris; he takes over from the outgone Police boss, Solomon Arase.

Our cover photo shows President Buhari with outgoing Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase and New Acting Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris as President Buhari congratulates New Acting Inspector General of Police Mr Ibrahim Kpotun Idris in the State House.

However, damning facts about the new Police Chief have emanated. Which may put the appointment of Mr Idris into context. Mr Ibrahim Kpotun Idris was the Commissioner of Police in Kano state during the 2015 presidential election where the All Progressives Congress (APC) had 1,903,999 votes and PDP 215,779 vote; interestingly there were no void votes.

Mr. Ibrahim Idris, was the Commissioner of Police in Kano state, during the alleged murder of the Kano state Resident Electoral Commissioner, late Alhaji Abdullahi Minkaila and his entire family, 4 days after the 2015 presidential  election.

The late Alhaji Minkaila was burnt along with his wife and two children in an inferno when his house was engulfed by a “mysterious fire”.

It was believed that the late Alhaji Minkaila was killed because he was about to reveal the alleged massive rigging during the 2015 presidential election in Kano state.

Mr. Ibrahim Idris, was the Commissioner of Police in Kano state, when surprisingly within 24 hours of the alleged murder of the late Alhaji Minkaila and his entire family, the Police announced that late Minkaila and his entire family were killed by fire “caused by a spark in the family’s generator set at about 4a.m Friday morning”.

With less than 24 hours into his appointment as Inspector General critics are now asking if the appointment of Mr.  Idris is an exemplified case of  “compensation for a work well done”?

Nevertheless, I am certain, anyone whose grey matter is still functional, would be able to put the pieces together.
