He needs it…
The Takeda compatibility patch for Mortal Kombat 1. Notably, Takeda Takahashi is the final DLC character being released for the Kombat Pack 1, but we still have the Kombat Pack 2 to look forward, which consists of Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, T-1000, and Conan the Barbarian.
This latest patch proved to be a fairly substantial update as it applied numerous changes to characters and Kameos that weren’t really seeing much representation at tournaments. However, it turns out that the Cyrax Kameo has gained access to an unblockable setup that’s perhaps best described as being “unfair.”
As demonstrated by PND|Mustard, it’s possible for the Cyrax Kameo to linger between rounds with his bomb ability. For the most part, this seems to occur accidentally, but it turns out that Ermac can actually initiate the sequence intentionally.
Technically speaking, the bomb’s explosion isn’t normally an unblockable attack like it was in Mortal Kombat 9. Funnily enough, the bomb ends up exploding before the start of the next round if timed correctly.
Due to this, even if the player makes the conscious decision to hold the block button to block the bomb setup, they’ll end up getting launched. The opponent won’t actually take any damage from the explosion itself, but they other player will effectively get a free combo opportunity.
As seen in the clip, the Cyrax Kameo user can achieve about 418 damage as a way to start off the next round. Needless to say, this feels like an oversight that will likely be patched out in a future update.

Seen a few clips of Cyrax outstaying his welcome with selfdestruct in between rounds, and it turns out Ermac can do it on purpose with EX lift, giving guaranteed damage going into the next round
Yeah, this is cheap, definitely not expecting this to stay in the game pic.twitter.com/Wf9JR0RbOf
