Street Fighter 6 will be receiving its largest update to date in a matter of hours, and it looks like even more new content will be included.
Capcom just revealed a new set of challenger screens to use in SF6 that players are probably going to get a kick out of.
The new collection of screen options also comes from a fan artist turned official with their cute and fun style that stands out.
Kangyaku is the illustrator you may recognize as creating the “You’ve Got This, Juri!” Juri-chan!” web comic that got picked up by the Street Fighter social media accounts and are sometimes displayed in Street Fighter 6 itself in places like the Battle Hub.
As shown in the trailer, these character screens should be available for every character including Akuma once the new update officially drops on May 22.
There is also some cute references packed in to the art with the web comic version Juri appearing on her phone, JP pulling from The Shining, and it may be inadvertent, but E. Honda’s eyes and smile as well as the engery around him makes it look like he’s ready to pierce the heavens.
It does not, however, say how much they’re going to cost, but assuming they’re the same as the past additions, each challenger screen should be priced at 2,000 Drive Tickets or 100 Fighter Coins ($2 USD).
Outfit 3 for Akuma, Ed, A.K.I. and Rashid will also be made available as DLC alongside these tomorrow as well.
And beyond that, Akuma himself and the balance update, Capcom is adding new combo trials, new music settings with an in-game shop, and more to the game.
So it looks like players are going to have quite a bit to sink their teeth into.
