It has been brought to our notice that some people collude with security personnel and still parade themselves as Anti Deforestation Task Force, thereby extorting monies from truck drivers and timber dealers as charges or surcharges for easy passage of Logs to and fro exit points in the State.
This is informing the general public that the Former Task force Team on Deforestation was dissolved by His Excellency, Senator Professor Ben Ayade, and a New Interim Task Force under the Chairmanship of Hon (Mrs) Florence-Omon Bassey Inyang has been inaugurated with immediate effect.
Henceforth,, any vehicle caught violating the law would be impounded, brought to book and properly dealt with.
We advise the public to tread with caution.
