The Cross River State Commissioner for Youth Development and Skills Acquisition, Hon. Signor Omang Idiege has restated the State Government commitment to sustain and strengthen the collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for greater profitability and youth development.
Signor Idiege who stated this during a familiarisation visit by the newly posted NYSC State Coordinator,Ahaji Mohammed Nakamba to his office in Calabar, informed that the State has prioritised youth development and skills acquisition, adding that the Governor Ben Ayade led administration is ever ready to wholly contribute to youth development and empowerment.
The Commissioner averred that as future leaders, investing in the future of youth is an economic gain that would benefit the State and the nation at large in the nearest future, noting that one of the greatest and profitable inclusion in the NYSC camp activities is the introduction of skills acquisition and entrepreneurship,which he emphasized is an indispensable tool for wealth creation in an evolving society like Nigeria.
Speaking earlier, the new NYSC State Coordinator, Alhaji Mohammed Nakamba appreciated the Commissioner for the warm reception, informing that his posting to Cross River State will add a milestone to the scheme that will be profitable to the State as well, while seeking for every available assistance as he settles down in office and prepare to receive his first batch of Corps Members in the State.
Alhaji Nakamba solicited for the support of the State Government in renovating the permanent orientation camp at Obubra Local Government Area with basic facilities for the the comfort of the Corps Members who after their orientation course are sent to the hinterlands of the State to contribute to the development of these communities and better the lives of the people.
He pledged his readiness to work assiduously to support the ideals of the State Government and ensuring that his time as NYSC State Coordinator in Cross River State will bring innovations for the betterment of the people.
