The Cross River State Government, has commended the Nigerian Export Processing Zone Authority for lighting up Esuk Utan Community in Calabar Municipality.
The Commissioner for Commerce, Pst. RoseMary Archibong gave the commendation during the commissioning of a 500KVA 11/0.415K sub station at Esuk Utan Community in Calabar recently, stated that lighting up the Community will improve Commercial activities in the area and the State at large as well as stop activities of miscreants whose ignoble deeds thrive in the coffers of darkness.
She called for more synergy between NEPZA and the Government in order to enhance the industrialisation drive of the Ayade-led administration, noting that most of the products from the numerous industries across the State will attract regional and International trade.
To this end, the Commerce Commissioner maintained that adequate information and training on packaging and processing of goods that meets international standards should be business owners in the State.
Earlier, the acting Managing Director NEPZA, Mr. Bitrus Dawuk, said supply and installation of the 500KVA substation, is part of Company’s corporate social responsibility, and the surge to make the Calabar Free Zone meet world class standards.
