Cross River State Commissioner for Information & Orientation, Comrade Asu Okang has urged staff of the Ministry and her Parastatals to key into the emerging new information order being championed by Governor Ben Ayade in order to remain relevant in the scheme of things or shaped out of the system.
Comrade Okang stated this in Calabar during separate meetings with segments of staff of the Ministry, including Information Officers, Marketing team of Cross River Broadcasting Corporation (CRBC) and the enlarged Ministerial Management meeting comprising Heads of Departments in the Ministry, CRBC, the Newspaper Corporation, Government Printing Press and the Cross River State Signage and Advertising Agency (CRISSAA).
The Commissioner pointed out that he is highly excited with the level of cooperation so far received, emphasizing that the passion, commitment, solidarity and optimism has grown in the last six weeks of his assumption of duty as the new helmsman of the Ministry, from the hitherto lowest ebb of the driving spirit, among the workforce.
“Overtime, the driving spirit has gone to the lowest ebb. Today, I am excited that people are longing for change. The passion is growing especially with the kind of spirit of the new Information order being championed by our leader – Senator Prof. Benedict Ayade,” Comrade Okang averred.
He bemoan the situation where senior officers in some of the Ministry’s Parastatals are finding it difficult to embrace the new information order, stressing that most of them are not adding value to the system, thereby becoming redundant under the current dispensation.
Such category of staff, Comrade Okang pointed out should be prepared to shape out of the information sector, noting that their services could be needed in other sectors of the State Service. He lauded other staff that have keyed into the new arrangement for their level of cooperation and sued for its sustenance for the success of the Governor Ayade led administration.
