CALABAR- A group, Cross River Women for Atiku has commended the People’s Democratic Party, PDP for the peaceful conduct of its recent Presidential Primary and the emergence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the standard-bearer of the party for the 2019 election.
Mrs Blessing Egbara, the President of the group in a statement in Calabar said the peaceful conduct of the primary shows that the PDP is set to assume power in 2019.
“The former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is eminently fit and well prepared to be President of this country and would make the necessary changes to restore our economy to live and that would bring back smiles on the faces of Nigerians”. The statement stated.
She said over time the former Vice President has shown commitment to the welfare of the people and when he is elected President he would use the good office to better the lot of the ordinary people.
“We want to assure the party that the women of Cross River would turn out en-masse to show our solidarity and also vote for the party in the 2019 election”.
Mrs Egbara said the group is moving village to village to carry out door- to- door campaign for the PDP to ensure victory for the party and its candidates in the 2019 election.
According to her, many men have also been won over by them and are in support of the group and its cause for the emergence of men and women of integrity in 2019.
“Men are our husbands, our fathers and our brothers and many of them are is in support of our project for Atiku and other PDP candidates”.
