C’River Vice Chairmen Forum commends Gov Otu’s Infrastructure Development, Backs Second Term Bid

The Cross River State Vice Chairmen Forum has commended Governor Bassey Otu’s administration for its remarkable infrastructure, human capital development  and economic strides across the 18 local government areas of the state.

The forum, during a press briefing on Thursday in Ogoja LGA, highlighted the governor’s commitment to improving the state’s infrastructure, citing notable projects such as the construction and rehabilitation of roads across the three senatorial districts.

The Chairman of the forum who is also the Vice Chairman of Bakassi LGA, Hon. Princess Christina Eso commended Governor Otu for Economic Revitalization, People‑First Governance, Security and Peace-building, Agricultural Revolution, Education and Human Capital Development, healthcare, Tourism and culture, support for local government councils and donation of official vehicles to all vice chairmen in the state.

She said, “In a very special way, we wish to commend His Excellency, Governor Bassey Edet Otu, on his outstanding achievements and unwavering commitment to the progress and development of our great state. We are impressed by his visionary leadership, people-centered policies, and remarkable strides in revitalizing the state’s economy. Under Governor Otu’s administration, Cross River State has witnessed significant growth and development, it is with these outstanding achievements that make this endorsement both necessary and well-deserved.”

“Today, we gather not just as political leaders or party loyalists, but as proud sons and daughters of Cross River State who have witnessed the rebirth of good governance under the able leadership of His Excellency, Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Otu. You have lived up to your “People First” mantra. From prompt payment of salaries and pensions to mass employment through the civil service and strategic appointments, you have shown that governance is truly about the people”, she added.

Eso noted that Governor Otu’s re-election in 2027, will solidify and sustain massive achievements in infrastructure development, cooperative empowerment, and people-centered governance which will significantly shape the state.

“Your Excellency, in just two years, your administration has not only restored hope but redefined governance with a style anchored on peace, inclusivity, economic growth, and compassion. As Chairman of the Forum of Vice Chairmen, I stand here with a heart full of gratitude and a voice echoing the collective will of grassroots leaders across the state to publicly endorse and wholeheartedly support His Excellency for a second term in office”, she declared.

“We heartily appreciate the People’s First governor for the donation of official vehicles to Vice Chairmen of the 18 Local government Area of the state. This gesture is historic, exciting, remarkable and indelible in the annals of human history. We thank you, Your Excellency. These figures are not just metrics, they represent real lives transformation. From robust revenue generation to economic empowerment, from strategic infrastructure to human capital development, your leadership has made Cross River a model of good governance and inclusive growth”, Eso remarked.

The forum passed a vote of confidence on  governor Bassey Otu, endorsing him and his deputy, Rt Hon. Peter Odey for a second term in office with a motion moved by Vice Chairman of Biase Council, Hon. Ekuma Ngwu JP and seconded by the Vice Chairman of Abi LGA, Hon Joseph Ukata.

In a vote of thanks, Hon. (Dr) God’s-lifted Keppy, the Vice Chairman of Yakurr LGA said, “Under your leadership, Cross River is gradually reclaiming its place as an agricultural giant. We the Vice Chairmen can boldly testify that this administration has restored autonomy, dignity, and functionality to local government councils. His Excellency stands out as the only Governor in Nigeria who has assigned critical constitutional responsibilities to Vice Chairmen through the amended Local Government Law, a bold and visionary move that has strengthened leadership at the grassroots. You have carried grassroots leaders along and empowered us to function optimally. That, we do not take for granted.”
