CALABAR – As humanitarian needs within the state continue to increase following recent attacks on Belegete community in Obanliku local government area by Cameronian rebels and the burning down of yam barns worth millions of Naira in Bebuatong as well as many other natural and man made disasters that have affected the state, the Cross River State Government has said it will need the support of Non-Governmental Organizations,  Individuals and International Partners to meet these humanitarian needs.
Speaking through a new month statement from her office, the commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr (Mrs) Helen A Isamoh-Egodo called Cross Riverians to support the People’s First government of Sen. Prince Bassey Otu as it works towards the betterment of the state. 
 The Commissioner who carried out on the spot assessment of the affected communities called for volunteers to assist in the communities and donations from well spirited individuals while encouraging Cross Riverians to unite and support one another in times of need. 
The Biase born politician added that her ministry is aimed at providing assistance to the vulnerable, promote education and healthcare as well as empower young people to become agents of positive change in the society.
